Cody Teen Leadership Coalition

Deb White has taught science at Cody High School in Cody, Wyoming, for 20 years. In addition to teaching, she co-founded and continues to sponsor Cody Change Attitudes Now (Cody CAN), a unique and nationally recognized anti-drug incentive program. She also sponsors Cody Youth for Justice, a student-led group that has created and successfully lobbied for the passage of numerous laws in the Wyoming legislature, including the anti-huffing bill and the open container bill.

Ms. White also established a model high school teen court, which was implemented in a number of school districts throughout the state of Wyoming. She published several articles in Leadership for Student Activities, presented with her students at National Law Enforcement and addiction prevention conferences, and appeared on Good Morning America twice to publicize the success of Cody CAN. Ms. White holds a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse and an M.A. in Science Education from the University of Wyoming.
