Jeff Abbott is assistant professor of education for Indiana University, Fort Wayne and Bloomington campuses and an adjunct scholar for the Indiana Policy Review Foundation. He has had a total 14 years of experience as a school superintendent in two Indiana school districts. Abbott was also a public junior high school and public high school teacher, as well as a practicing attorney specializing in school law for an Indianapolis law firm for 17 years.

Abbott's areas of research and publishing include: school law, education policy, school governance, education politics, quality of school philosophy and process, systemic K-12 education reform, and education leadership.

Abbott received his B.S. in Business Education and M.S. in Education from Butler University, Indianapolis; Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Indiana University, Bloomington; J.D. from Indiana University, Indianapolis; and Ph.D. from Indiana State University, Terre Haute.
