Ken Royal is Senior Editor at Scholastic Administrator and Instructor magazines for Scholastic’s Professional Media Group.

He has two degrees from Western Connecticut State University, thirty-four years of K12 teaching experience, and an extensive knowledge of the K12 product marketplace. Besides his magazine obligations, Royal attends major education conferences and does onsite interviews throughout the country for Scholastic.

As an educator, he was chosen district teacher of the year four times, and also selected Connecticut Middle School Teacher of the Year.

In his final three years of teaching, Royal was district instructional technology specialist, where he taught students, staff, administrators and parents how technology could be used to enhance learning, and earned a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation award for school excellence in technology education.

His blog, The Royal Treatment, offers interviews, how-to’s and reviews of education products through an educator’s eyes.

Royal has also been an education and technology freelance writer and presenter.
