Sammis B. White, Ph.D., is Director of the Center for Workforce Development, a Professor of Urban Planning, and the Associate Dean of the School of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is actively involved in workforce and economic development at the local level. Professor White has written more than 140 referred journal articles, monographs, and research reports and has co-authored or co-edited five books, including two on economic development finance and a third on entrepreneurship. He also co-founded and then co-edited for ten years Economic Development Quarterly. Dr. White is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Pennsylvania.
