I;m glad that the fourth scaling example was mentioned, as Brooke did - Joe Trippi's book about 'viral marketing' -(which easily qualifies as scale by spread) was the driver for what the Obama campaign did, and continues to do, as Social innovation in America's cities: getting more out of our social service delivery systems

Aside from the obvious examples that (Mayor) Goldsmith may bring to the table, and the title of Mr. Howard's great book, "The Death of Common Sense" very well alludes to, I see in the discussion so far today one of Social innovation in America's cities: getting more out of our social service delivery systems
